How to prepare for your boudoir session

Preparation makes perfection

So you’ve booked your session, finalised times and dates, your session is just around the corner so now what? Whether this be your first time stepping in front of my camera or your tenth, you may be feeling a little nervous, please know this is perfectly normal, the moment you step through my doors on your session day, those nerves will quickly fade away.

As the saying goes preparation makes perfection so take all the time you can to ensure you’ll have everything you need and feel ready to enjoy your day to the fullest! Below you’ll find some of my pearls of wisdom that will help you get packed and ready to shine!

Where to start?

Planning is key to making your session as exquisite as it can be. Giving some thought and time to your lingerie is so important, as well as investing in quality, beautifully fitting lingerie. You'll find some of my recommended brands in this info book.

I always recommend having a bra fitting before your session to make sure you are wearing the perfect size and shape for you.

Underwired bras tend to give the best shape, however they are certainly not a requirement, so if you prefer a bralette or simple lace, just do you!

Whilst it may be tempting to go for skimpy knickers, be aware that thongs or string style knickers can cut into the hips and create bumps where you may not want them, bigger knickers can be just as beautiful in the right fabrics, and my golden piece of advice ~ size up, trust me, no one is going to see the size label.

Don't be afraid to go for all in ones, teddies or divine robes, these can help you feel a little more covered if you are feeling a tad nervous. Styling each outfit with the perfect pair of shoes ( heels elongate your legs and improve posture ) or elegant jewellery makes all the difference.

Stockings and hold ups can look incredible but always purchase a couple of pairs and buy a couple of sizes bigger than you think you need.

If you are planning on any hair removal via waxing or threading, please allow at least 24 hours before your session to allow any redness or swelling to go down.

Never underestimate the power of good eyebrows!

Roots will show in your images, so if you do dye your hair, consider tying in your next salon visit around your session.

Try not to wear underwear or tight fitting clothes on the way to your session to avoid red marks.

Try to drink plenty of water in the run up to your session so your skin is glowing!

Beware of fake tan ~ if done professionally with someone you have used before this is absolutely fine, but please be aware that a bad fake tan is hard to hide!

You will be having your hair and make up done by one of my incredible professional artists, so please arrive with no make up, and hair freshly washed. Your artist will be waiting for you at the venue.

Feel free to share any ideas for the look you would like to go for with your artist beforehand, pinterest is a great tool. Or feel free to give them free rein to work their magic!

If you have any allergies please make myself and your artist aware prior to your session so we can prepare and have the right products available for you.

Your day
